Harvest of the Past
Learn about Alberta’s agricultural roots with a traditional harvest at the Ukrainian Village. See the Village one last time this fall and witness an old-fashioned threshing bee.
Celebrate the joy of the harvest season, and join us for a day filled with family-friendly activities and experiences:
Historical Village Activities (10 am to 5 pm)
Don't miss the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the historical village today! Step inside the captivating historic buildings and engage in conversations with our costumed interpreters. They are eager to share the story of Ukrainian settlement in east central Alberta with you.
Threshing Demonstrations (11 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm)
Each demonstration during these times provides an engaging experience that lasts approximately 20-30 minutes. Between these captivating demonstrations, visitors will have a unique opportunity to walk around the threshing machine. Our knowledgeable interpreters will be on hand to answer questions and provide insights about the machine and the harvest. Please note that the threshing demonstrations and schedule are subject to change, as unforeseen weather conditions or equipment issues may arise.

Farmstead Zone
- Slemko House #6 - Zhorna (hand-powered grist mill) grinding

- Demchuk Blacksmith Shop #43 – Horseshoeing and farrier demonstrations (10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.)
Feature Exhibit (10 am to 5 pm)
Make, Mend and Modify: Ukrainians Adapting in Alberta. The exhibit, supported by Lamont County, highlights artifacts that have been made, mended, or modified, encouraging visitors to explore and connect with the pioneer spirit of ‘making do’.
Gift Shop (10 am – 5 pm)
Don't miss the chance to explore the Gift Shop situated in the Visitor Center. Take home a piece of the experience with unique and thoughtfully selected items from our gift shop.
Culinary Delights (10 am to 5 pm)
Savor the tastes of tradition with on-site food services from Kalyna Kitchen and Sweets n' Treats.
Children's Activities (11 am to 4 pm)
Join us at the Children's Activities Tent, hosted by Ardrosssan Ukrainian Yatran Dance Club, for old-fashioned fun kids' crafts, lively lawn games, and exciting face painting!
